Choose Life License Plates
After years of discussion, “Choose Life” license plates are now available in the State of Iowa. DOT applications and a FAQ sheet are available only through the Iowa Right to Life office. You can contact them directly at 877-595-9406 or email

Sacred Heart Cemetery
The Sacred Heart Cemetery Committee wishes for you to remove all decorations that you may have at the cemetery within two weeks following Memorial Day. This does not include flowers that will set on the monument base. Thank you for your assistance.
Share with your Parish
A donation of soybeans or corn is an easy way to donate to your parish via our local elevators. They can purchase your grain and write a check directly to the church you designate. The amount will then be posted to your annual contribution report.
Visitation Commemorative Stoneware
With the impending demolition of Visitation Catholic School and recent Visitation Church renovations, the Visitation Pastoral Council is offering commemorative Redwing Stoneware cream can utensil holders for purchase. A wonderful memento or gift. Cost is $30 each with check payable to Visitation Church. Please include the word 'stoneware' on the memo line. An example will be displayed, and orders can be placed before/ after any Visitation 8:30am Sunday Mass during the month of May; or feel free to contact a Visitation Pastoral Council
member. You may also print this FORM and send it in to the cluster office.
Visitation Cemetary Improvement Project
The Visitation Cemetary is getting larger, and the Cemetary Board has voted to add an additional access drive between the cemetary's two sections and to erect an Archway/ Cemetary sign. Your financial support is neede to complete this projects. Fill out the following form HERE (pdf), and mail it to:

Have you seen the commercials about catholicscomehome.org? They are promoting a great website that can be a tool for anyone to use, whether they are just retuning to the faith, or have been a Catholic their whole life. When you go to the website you can click on the I’m Catholic tab and they have wonderful resources from Learn More About Your Catholic Faith, to 2-minute Ways to Share Your Faith, which are real questions and answers about being Catholic. Check it out!
TV Masses for homebound
Sacred Heart Church broadcasts on OMU Channel 21 Sunday at 9:30am. Donations are always welcome for television Masses, and you can also donate in memory or in honor of someone. Television Masses are $30 per Sunday.
Dubuque 175th history books
We now have the 175th Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Dubuque history books available to purchase at the Cluster Office. They have history on every church in the diocese and are only $32.00. The comic book version is only $5.25. The catholic churches of Mitchell County are included and it makes a great gift for the history buff!
Franciscan Common Venture
Are you able to “give a week” of your precious time and energy this summer to help others who have so little? Franciscan Common Venture is looking for some generous-hearted volunteers to assist the poor of Waterloo, IA, San Antonio, TX, Sioux City, IA, Nebraska, Illinois, Missouri, and Mississippi. Joy of Givers Community Club
The Evergreen Senior Living based Knit/Crochet Club, The Joy Givers, has expanded into a community group. We are looking for new members as our fingers are always flying and there are many great projects such as contributing baby blankets and hats, afghans, mittens, scarves hats, sweaters, and lap robes to Mason City homeless shelters, the Women’s Crisis Center, several local mitten trees, and hospitals in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Rochester. The Joy Givers meet once a month on the second Thursday at Evergreen Senior Living at 2:00pm to knit and crochet together.
