“Souper Bowl of Caring”
The “Souper Bowl of Caring” will take place at all Masses on January 28 and 29. The 12th grade Religious Education students will be holding soup bowls before Mass in both Visitation Church and Sacred Heart Church; the money collected will benefit the Mitchell County Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

Matt Maher is coming to Ames
Eight-time GMA Dove Award nominee, Matt Maher, will perform in Ames on Wednesday,
February 15. Maher is nationally renowned Christian-Catholic songwriter and worship
artist, known for songs, “Alive Again”, and “Your Grace is Enough”. He has worked
with Chris Tomlin and has performed at international and national youth conferences.
Audrey Assad, an amazing vocal artist known for popular Christian songs, “Restless”
and “The House You’re Building”, will be opening for Matt. The event will be held at
Ames Middle School and is expected to sell out. This concert is sponsored by Saint
Cecilia Catholic Church. Contact Beth Hoppel if you are interested in going. This event
is open for all 9th - 12th grade youth, and parents and adults are also welcome. To find

Catholic Heart Workcamp 2012
Any youth in 8th grade-12th grade is invited to attend Catholic Heart Workcamp. Next
summer, this group will spend a week in Kansas City, KS, July 15-20, 2012.
Their mission is twofold:
First: To share the love of Jesus and serve the neglected, brokenhearted, and marginalized
in any way needed. The Catholic Heart Workcamp mission is to revitalize communities
and beautify homes for the elderly, disabled, and those who cannot afford needed repairs.
Our goal is to inspire participants to serve in their local communities.
Second: To empower participants to live as disciples of Christ through serving others.
To foster the spiritual growth of each participant through the sacraments, Catholic faith
sharing and prayer. If your youth is interested in attending, contact Beth Hoppel at
